Kaushiki Chakraborty is one of the leading voices of contemporary Hindustani classical music, known for her powerful khayal singing and expressive style rooted in the Patiala gharana tradition. Born in Kolkata, she was trained by her father, the legendary vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, and later at the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy. Her repertoire spans khayal, thumri, dadra, and devotional music, and she has performed at major festivals and concert halls around the world. A recipient of the BBC Radio 3 World Music Award (Asia-Pacific) and the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, she continues to bridge tradition with innovation in Indian classical music.
