Anuradha Pal is an acclaimed Indian tabla player, composer, and educator, known for her contributions to Indian classical music. A disciple of Ustad Alla Rakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain, she has performed globally and is the first female Indian musician to play at WOMAD and Przystanek Woodstock. In 1996, she founded Stree Shakti, India’s first all-female classical music ensemble, championing women in music. She has also composed the critically acclaimed background score for M.F. Husain’s “Gaja Gamini”. Anuradha actively promotes cultural preservation and social causes through the Anuradha Pal Cultural Foundation, supporting women, youth, and marginalized communities.
