An honors degree in communications followed by a summer scholarship at Gallaudet Washington DC to study ASL with dance and theatre, Tess Joseph is a well-known casting director in India who has casted some of the big names in Mira Nair’s Nameskae and went onto work with several acclaimed filmmakers like Doug Liman, Ang Lee, Wes Anderson among others. From bringing Indian stars like Priyanka Bose, Kubbra Sait on international platforms to becoming a leading casting director, she is a force to reckon with. She is Director of Kommune, a collaborative arts collective in India that funds and seeds ideas to actuality. Kommune was founded by Roshan Abbas, Ankur Tiwari and Gaurav Kapur.
