Avanti Nagral is on a mission to create songs, stories and conversations that challenge societal norms. Avanti’s artistry, coming-of-age empowerment pop, draws inspiration from her backgroundin Indian Classical, Broadway, and Gospel music. She was the first in the world to pursue a dual degree at both Harvard University and Berklee College of Music, changing the narrative of a creative’s educational experience. Having performed at the United Nations and TEDx conferences, Avanti’s passion for social impact intersects with her love for performing. Avanti has amassed a strong and engaged community, The “Avantribe,” 1M+ and growing, with 300M+ views across verticals. Her content takes a community-first approach and she works toward building opportunities for and with heraudience.

 

Avanti has been able to take music and apply it to her health, education and advocacy endeavours. Intersectionality, identity and helping mobilise the youth are the tenants of Avanti’s artistry. Avanti maintains a lifelong passion for global health and development, having done work in the fields of music therapy,anemia, organ donation, cardiac disease, CPR/emergency care, and mental/sexual health. As a teenager, she founded YCPR, a Youth Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation campaign that was seed-funded with her earnings as a Performing Artist, empowering youth to help save lives in their communities. Now she channelsher artistry and digital entertainment projects through her production company,Golden Milk Media, focusing on Gen-Z in India, most recently her conversations around sex with her Aaji (Grandmother who is a physician) have received international attention as sexual healthbecomes more and more imperative.

 

Avanti was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading role for her portrayal of Agnes in ‘Agnes of God’ at the National Theatre Awards in India, recorded a pop-devotional English-Sanskrit fusion album, and has performed at venues and festivals acrossIndia, the US and Southeast Asia. When she’s not making music, she creates content that spansacross education, lifestyle and seeks to normalize taboo topics like mental and sexual health, genderedstereotypes and more.
